Allan Kaprow and Paul McCarthy

On the occasion of Paul McCarthy’s midcareer retrospective in 2000, MOCA hosted a conversation between McCarthy and Allan Kaprow. Kaprow was a teacher and mentor to McCarthy, and the two were in a dialogue with one another beginning in the late 1960s.

Paul McCarthy has served as an advisor to the exhibition Allan Kaprow–Art as Life, currently on view at The Geffen Contemporary at MOCA
